Pin-Drafted Pencil Roving (Spinning Fibre Coils)

Pin-drafted roving is machine-combed spinning fibre sold by the gram from the tidy coils produced by our vintage machine. This fibre has been washed, dehaired, carded, and pin drafted: in this preparation, the fine qiviut fibres are machine-drafted through dozens of combs and lie mostly straight alongside each other, making for a sleek and strong worsted-style yarn.

Note: while this fibre has been mostly dehaired, there may still be a few fine muskox guard hairs present.
