'Niviuk' is a term meaning 'caress'--or more specifically, to give love in the form of squishy hugs, especially to a child. A happy and affectionate word, it speaks to the coziness and delight of this special fibre blend!

This highly luxurious yarn combines the rarity of qiviut (wild NWT muskoxen fibre) with cashmere and silk, for ultimate softness and fabric 'memory.' Like cashmere, qiviut is difficult to felt, and your knitted projects can be gently washed.

For fingering/sock-weight projects, yarn can be held doubled--or combined with others from your collection. (As most knitters say, it's always worthwhile to double-check your gauge by swatching first!)
